Nov-Dec 2023Yaacov Agam is an Israeli artist well-known for his kinetic art. This book is a monograph about him and his works. The book starts with long essays written about him. The footnotes run on the sides, and the figures are within the essays. After that are the catalog entries where I displayed five of his most famous artworks. Each catalog entry starts with the name, description, and a preview image of the work. The next page is a full-bleed spread of the artwork where the viewer can enjoy the art on a large scale. The next section is color plates where the rest of his artworks are shown. The book ends with the index and photo credits.
I used a 9 x 12 grid for this book to go with the 9 x 12-inch size. I wanted the cover of the book to be black and white to contrast with his colorful artworks inside the book.
